SOUTH BEND, Ind. — One person is dead after shots were fired on N. Brookfield street in South Bend.
According to police, crews were called to the 1000 block of N. Brookfield street around 2:15 a.m. Thursday morning, after a shotspotter alert.
The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit is on scene, and officials confirm that an investigation is underway into the death of one male.
Another deadly incident happened in the same area in October of 2020.
Fredrick Williams, 16, was found with gunshot wounds inside of a vehicle, and pronounced dead at the scene.
No suspects have been named in the shooting that happened Thursday.
